General ledgers of the County Council, 1921-1950.

This series is the record of final year-to-date summary of receipts and disbursements. Information generally includes sources and amounts of receipts, nature and amount of disbursements, dates of transactions, and names of payees. Sources of receipts include various taxes collected and monies appropriated by the General Assembly. Disbursements include expenditures for roads and bridges, county officers' salaries, care of the poor, upkeep of prisoners in the jail and convicts on the chain gang, and maintenance of the courthouse and jail.
